Taking into careful consideration the value and constraints that are placed on everyone's time, we believe that the most effective focus groups are conducted on the weekends. That's why MetaSystems offers two kinds of focus group weekends in the form of single or double header groups, and your choice of either oral or written reports afterwards.
The single-header group option, held on Saturday, is a one-day intensive session with 21 participants. The double-header group option adds additional input from a 16-person session held on Friday. In all sessions, the attorneys deliver a segmented adversarial presentation for each side through the day, accompanied by written surveys and extensive verbal debriefing of the entire group by the MetaSystems moderator. Deliberations are held at the end, with the groups split into three "juries" of seven members on Saturday, and two "juries" of eight on Fridays.
The focus group findings are immediately reviewed, and an oral report outlining the plan for your case presentation is delivered on Monday – just two days after your session (unless prior arrangements are made, this happens in the same locale where the focus group was conducted). Or you can opt for a comprehensive written report, submitted to you three weeks after the group. Written reports also include a follow-up conference to review the findings with the attorney(s).
Regardless of the report format you select, a second follow-up conference follows. Turning analysis into action, the purpose of this session is to review and revise your own draft work on opening statement, voir dire sequence, topics and questions, demonstrative aids and witness prep plans. This conference is designed to ensure you get the most value for your investment wherever the results will be used and is included in the one flat rate for the focus group work.
